Individuals listed as authors must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Substantial Contribution: Significant involvement in the conception, design, data collection, analysis, or interpretation of the research.

  • Final Approval: Approval of the final version of the manuscript prior to submission and publication.
  • Accountability: Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work and to respond to questions related to accuracy or integrity.

Contributorship Statement

To promote transparency, the journal may request a detailed contributorship statement specifying each author’s role in the research and manuscript preparation. This statement must accurately reflect individual contributions and may be published alongside the article when required.

Changes in Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission will only be considered under exceptional circumstances. Such requests must be accompanied by written consent from all listed authors and a clear explanation of the reason for the change. The Editorial Board reserves the right to evaluate and approve such requests.

Dispute Resolution

In cases of authorship disputes, the journal will follow a structured and impartial investigation process in accordance with COPE guidelines. AZWA is not responsible for resolving personal disputes among authors but may require documented evidence of contributions when necessary.

Prohibition of Unethical Authorship Practices

The journal strictly prohibits:

  • Honorary or Gift Authorship: Listing individuals who did not make significant contributions.
  • Ghost Authorship: Excluding individuals who made substantial contributions.

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately in the acknowledgment section.
